Jo’s Cornbread Donuts

4 C Martha White self rising cornmeal
2 C Martha White self rising flour
2 C Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon
2 tsp Nutmeg
4 Eggs
2 C Mayfield Buttermilk
Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Beat eggs then add buttermilk, nutmeg and cinnamon. Mix together. Add sugar, flour and cornmeal. Mix thoroughly. Drop by teaspoon into Crisco. Deep fry until golden brown. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels then sprinkle with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.
